Price: 90USDYou will travel by road over the famous and scenic Hai Van Pass in a private air conditioned vehicle with your English speaking guide. Hai Van pass, is one of the highest in Vietnam and is renowned for its scenic beauty. Jeremy Clarkson, host of the BBC motoring show Top Gear, referred to the road as “a deserted ribbon of perfection—one of the best coast roads in the world.”
Hue is the home of several wonderfully interesting world heritage listed sites and the area has a lot to offer visitors. Hue is located near the centre of the country, approximately half way between HCMC and Hanoi and only 100kms North of Da Nang. Hue is the ancient capital of Vietnam and although many historical sites were damaged in the recent war with America it is still a fascinating place to visit and should not be missed. There any many interesting and ancient attractions to be found in and around Hue with a large number of them having been constructed in the 17th and 19th centuries. Among these is the Thien Mu Pagoda which is considered the symbol of Hue and was built in the early 1600s.
Itinerary :
0730h: Your English speaking guide & driver will pick you up at your hotel and you will start your journey to Hue. First you will travel along the coast road and drive through the busy city of Da Nang before travelling to the top of Hai Pass.
The pass which once formed the boundary between the kingdoms of Dai Viet and Champa, also forms a boundary between the climates of northern and southern Vietnam, sheltering the city of Da Nang from the winds that blow in from the northwest.
After stopping to take some spectacular photos your driver will take you slowly down the winding road toward Lan Co Beach on the way to Hue.
Lang Co Beach is an attractive, narrow peninsular stretch of white sand and palm trees, with a deep blue lagoon on one side and 10 kms of beachfront on the other.
1100h: You will arrive in Hue and visit the Imperial Citadel which is similar the Chinese Forbidden City in Beijing and is not to be missed. Building began in 1805 and the construction was not completed until 1835. Enclosed by a wall covering a distance of 10,000m and a moat, the Citadel was once the exclusive home of the Nguyen Imperial Family.
1200h: You will enjoy a set menu lunch at Le Fadins restaurant.
After lunch you Cruise on the Perfume River to visit several of the larger Pagodas and Tombs located along the river including the Thien Mu pagoda. Built on a hillock overlooking the Perfume river, it is an icon of Vietnam and the symbol of Hue city. You will also visit Tu Duc tomb. Tu Duc designed the exquisitely harmonious tomb, which was constructed between 1864 and 1867, for use both before and after his death.
1500h: Return to Hue and start your drive back through the road tunnel under Hai Van Pass.
1800h: Arrive Hoi An and drop off at your hotel.
